For 35 years I worked for a bank. Having taken redundancy in December 2015 I decided it was time for a big change.
I have always been interested in taking photos and thought that I should concentrate more on this and see what happened.
My idea began out of my love for my horses, Blue and Ebonni. My photography name was taken from Blue's stable name, Mitcharon Blue Lagoon. I have always liked taking snapshots of them and so decided to turn my hobby into something habit more serious and go to college an learn more!
At the beginning of June 2016 I was just chilling out around the pond at the yard, taking photos with my old Nikon Coolpix L120. Little did I know that this was the start of a new big adventure for me. Thank you again to my friend and fellow photographer, Leanne for lending me her posh camera, encouraging and helping me with this.
This has now turned into a full on idea for a possible business. I then purchased a new Nikon D3300 and have been experimenting with effects on the camera and Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Just starting out is hard but with determination and a little help and support from my friends, I have set out on this new adventure.
I have successfully completed a BTEC Diploma in Photography and am currently studying at college for a BA(Hons) Degree in Photography. This is really exciting and I am learnng so much more than I had expected.
My first passion is horses, but I am quite happy photographing anything else and I have produced some good images. I don't want to just stick to one subject as this will limit my reach.
I really enjoy my photography and am quite happy to have a go any any kind and have even learnt how to develop my own 35mm film and make black and white prints in the darkroom.
